COVID-19: Facts not Fiction
Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a disease that spreads from person to person. Scientists believe that COVID-19 started from seafood made in China, but we may never know where it came from. There is currently no medicine to protect us from COVID-19. So the best way to stop the virus is to not have close contact with people who are sick, and washing your hands often can help you from getting the virus. In Contra Costa County there are currently 615 people with COVID-19, and 14 people have died. Santa Clara county has the highest number of cases with 1,738 total cases and 65 deaths.
People can be sick for a long period of time before knowing that they COVID-19. Some common symptoms are:
- fever.
- tiredness.
- dry cough.
Some people may experience:
- aches and pains.
- nasal congestion.
- runny nose.
- sore throat.
- Diarrhoea.

I think If you are sick or have COVID-19, you should take steps to help prevent the disease from spreading to people in your home and community. Some things you should do to help to stop spreading COVID-19 are isolate yourself, clean the areas around your house with soap and water or another cleaner if you feel like it has germs. Be sure that you wash your hands for 20 seconds everyday.
Things I have been doing to keep myself clean are washing my hands, not putting my hands on my face and keeping 6 feet away from people. It’s actually been weird with COVID-!9 going on, all stores are closed. We can’t even shop without having to wait in a line 6 feet apart from the person in front of us, and wait for other people to come out. What if we are only going for one thing? That’s a waste of time. Everything is closed so the world is now boring. We can’t go out to eat, we can’t celebrate our birthdays, we can’t hang out with our friends, and we can’t even shop for clothes.
Let’s talk about this school schedule. It’s really throwing me off! I can’t see my friends, my teachers, etc. i have to wake up and do school work online FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR! I’d rather sit in a classroom for 8 hours straight and have to do a Zoom call every now and then i really don’t like this whole thing.
Hopefully everybody that has COVID-19 recovers and the world goes back to how it used to be. If the people continue to do what they’re supposed to do: isolate, wear masks, and keep hands clean, the world will go back to how it used to be.
