Introduction

Hi my name is Brianna but people call me bri. Today were going to learn more about me and why I started I started making music. So when I was 8, my father past away and it was really hard for me because he was the only parent I had around, and in 2nd and 3rd grade I always got bullied and what I mean by “I always got bullied” is when the teacher would leave the classroom two male students would hold me back in the classroom while one boy was holding me the other boy would hit really hard and all of that lead to depression so my sister put me in therapy but I didn’t like talking so she told me to write me feelings down. one day on thanksgiving my cousins preformed a song and that gave me an idea. So, I started to rapping, my first song was called “it might sound crazy”. one day I was in the library with my friend and I rapped my song to him and said I should post it on Instagram and I said “okay lets do it but I don’t think its going to be a hit” so I did it and the next day I checked my Instagram and I had a lot of views and likes so I thought maybe i’m good at this, so I started writing songs and preforming them to my family and that’s my story of why I started rapping and why I like it so much. My advice to you is to write your feelings down or put them on a beat and share it to the world it really helps. this is my introduction.

COVID-19: Facts not Fiction

COVID-19: Facts not Fiction

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a disease that spreads from person to person. Scientists believe that COVID-19 started from seafood made in China, but we may never know where it came from. There is currently no medicine to protect us from COVID-19. So the best way to stop the virus is to not have close contact with people who are sick, and washing your hands often can help you from getting the virus. In Contra Costa County there are currently 615 people with COVID-19, and 14 people have died. Santa Clara county has the highest number of cases with 1,738 total cases and 65 deaths.

People can be sick for a long period of time before knowing that they COVID-19. Some common symptoms are:

  • fever.
  • tiredness.
  • dry cough.

Some people may experience:

  • aches and pains.
  • nasal congestion.
  • runny nose.
  • sore throat.
  • Diarrhoea.

(Picture 1)

I think If you are sick or have COVID-19, you should take steps to help prevent the disease from spreading to people in your home and community. Some things you should do to help to stop spreading COVID-19 are isolate yourself, clean the areas around your house with soap and water or another cleaner if you feel like  it has germs. Be sure that you wash your hands for 20 seconds everyday.

Things I have been doing to keep myself clean are washing my hands, not putting my hands on my face and keeping 6 feet away from people. It’s actually been weird with COVID-!9 going on, all stores are closed. We can’t even shop without having to wait in a line 6 feet apart from the person in front of us, and wait for other people to come  out. What if we are only going for one thing? That’s a waste of time. Everything is closed so the world is now boring. We can’t go out to eat, we can’t celebrate our birthdays, we can’t hang out with our friends, and we can’t even shop for clothes.

Let’s talk about this school schedule. It’s really throwing me off! I can’t see my friends, my teachers, etc. i have to wake up and do school work online FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR! I’d rather sit in a classroom for 8 hours straight and have to do a Zoom call every now and then i really don’t like this whole thing.

Hopefully everybody that has COVID-19 recovers and the world goes back to how it used to be. If the people continue to do what they’re supposed to do: isolate, wear masks, and keep hands clean, the world will go back to how it used to be.

coronavirus

The sad reality is that it is spreading quickly and will continue to spread for a while.

Did you know that we are getting roughly 13,000 new cases a day and it’s growing fast?

No one really knows how many people will be infected (or will pass away sadly), but it has caused the global stock markets to crash, which means as a business (or even a marketer), you will be affected.

And because my ad agency works with hundreds of companies in all the major sectors and we have 7 offices around the world, we are already starting to see how it is impacting marketing (I’ll share the data below).

So what does this mean for you?

Well, before I go into that, let me be clear on what marketers should NOT do.

Don’t exploit the situation

The first thing we are seeing is people trying to exploit fear.

What I mean by this is supplies are running low around the world. From masks and toilet paper to hand sanitizer and other basic necessities… I am seeing marketers buying them and then reselling them on eBay or running ads and selling them for 10-50x the price.

This isn’t entrepreneurship and this isn’t marketing. I highly recommend that you avoid exploiting the Coronavirus situation to make a quick buck.

Not only is it wrong but it is also very short-sighted. Sure you may be able to make a quick buck, but it won’t last… you are better off spending your time on anything that is long term.

So now that we got that out of the way, what does the Coronavirus mean for marketers?

Businesses are going to struggle for a while

Even if the virus slows down fast as the numbers have dropped in China, businesses are going to struggle for well over a year because they will have to make up for their losses.

For example, in China the virus caused retail sales to drop by 20.5% and the unemployment rate jumped to 6.2 in February.

When companies like Apple shut down their stores to help reduce the spread, it means less income and less profit. Sure they are able to pay their employees during their temporary shutdown, but not all companies have their bank balance and most won’t be able to do the same.

Just look at the travel industry. The virus is expected to lose them 820 billion dollars. Virgin Atlantic just asked their staff to take an 8-week unpaid leave.

The ports are also empty and the first rounds of layoffs have already started.

It’s estimated that in total COVID-19 will cost the global economy $2.7 trillion.

And not only are people losing money but they are losing traffic and conversions

5 things you should know about young thug

Young Thug has a generic name, but he is one of the fastest-rising, most polarizing characters in modern rap. He hits Seattle with the chameleonic Travi$ Scott Tuesday, March 31.

The young rapper was unavailable for a phone interview, but here are five things you should know about him:

1. Early life: He was born Jeffrey Williams in 1992, in Atlanta, the second youngest of 11 children and grew up in the notorious Jonesboro South housing projects in the city’s Zone 3, home to notable rappers Waka Flocka Flame, 2 Chainz, Ludacris and PeeWee Longway.

2.Must-listen: His first mixtape, “I Came From Nothing,” came out in 2011, but the follow-up, “I Came From Nothing 2,” with its oddball style and creative, envelope-pushing vocal delivery, ranging from mumbled slang drawls to dancehall-inflected wails, is a must-listen and is regarded by many as his best work.

3. Yelping hooks: His big break came in 2013, when Atlanta street-rap legend Gucci Mane signed Thug to the 1017 Brick Squad imprint and released his “1017 Thug” mixtape, which has a darker, more trap-oriented sound but still plenty of yelping hooks and inventive punchlines (check “2 Cups Stuffed,” “Nigeria” and “Picacho” for prime examples).

4. You’re wearing what? With a fashion sense as unconventional as his rapping, Young Thug can regularly be seen on his Instagram account rocking painted fingernails, skintight jeans or a kids-size dress as a shirt, which, along with his habit of regularly referring to close male friends as “hubbie” or “lover” has led to rumors about his sexual orientation. But so what?

5. Label madness: He’s really calling his upcoming album “The Carter 6,” even though the “Carter” series is the turf of Lil Wayne, whom Thug has shouted out as his “favorite rapper” and with whom he collaborated on the track “Take Kare.” Because Wayne is currently in a dispute with Ca$h Money label head Brian “Birdman” Williams, Young Thug’s “The Carter 6” could see release before “Carter 5,” and Thug could be set to take Wayne’s spot among rap’s elite.

MBNel

Stockton rapper MBNel is finding growing success after the San Francisco 49ers used one of his songs in a hype video.

It’s a mix of different moods and different things I’ve been going through,” Dongon explains about Born To Win.

The success of his new album is coming quickly, and in ways he didn’t expect. During a break in the recording session, Dongon found out that the San Francisco 49ers used his song “Born to Win” in a hype video. He puts the video on and watches the NFL team warm up and take the field buoyed by his own lyrics: “I was born to win, seen it coming as a youngun, remember days when I was struggling and I thought that I’d be nothing.”

“That’s crazy,” Dongon says, trying to hide a smile. “I can’t stop cheesin’.”

Dongon never planned for rap to become his career. A Stockton native, he says he started rapping for fun while a student at Edison High School.

The “MB” in MBNel stands for a few things, all of which are names Dongon and his circle of friends gave themselves. One is Muddy Boyz, from Stockton’s nickname of “Mudville.” Another is “Mattie Boys,” a reference to Mattie Harrell Park which was a regular hangout spot for Dongon and his friends.

“[Mattie Harrell Park] is the first park I ever got shot at, and it wasn’t even me. My friend with me had got into an altercation or something happened,” Dongon explains. He was around 14 years old at the time, and says his reaction to the harsh pops of gunfire was to run away laughing. “We were young and ignorant, so we weren’t thinking nothing too serious of it.”

my first blog

Getting your music heard is hard. Getting your music heard by the right people is even harder. You hear so many blogs, journalists and other industry big names complaining about unsolicited PR emails from bands, so it’s difficult to know where to tread. This is why we have set up this blog post, containing info and links to all the influential sites and blogs who not only accept these emails but welcome them.

But before you start emailing, here’s a quick word of warning. Never under any circumstances send a group email. It may save you time, but putting all these addresses into a BCC field and firing over a group email would burn more bridges than it would build. Spend some time looking at each site individually, see what sort of music they are into and try to relate. If you are a sensitive singer songwriter crooning over an acoustic guitar, don’t contact a hip-hop blog. Find them on Twitter, look at their recent articles, and try and find common ground between them and your music.

“Valentine” by 5 Seconds of Summer

“Valentine” is a love song by the noted Australian pop rock band 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS). According to the band’s guitarist Michael Clifford, “Valentine” is purely a Valentine’s Day song. He called it his “ultimate Valentine song” since it “encapsulates the mood and feeling you wanna be feeling” on Saint Valentine’s Day. To him, the song can be likened to the band’s version of Mariah Carey’s 1994 hit single “All I Want for Christmas Is You”.
